A little background:
I am a true Dallasite! Born, raised, and currently reside in Dallas. I graduated in 2009 from Southern Methodist University with a degree in Communications. I married my high school sweetheart (I went to Ursuline, he went to Jesuit) and we have two fur children (#sulakids). I love music, especially electronic, and my happy place tends to be at outdoor music festivals. Following that is the State Fair of Texas, can't beat it.
Beauty regimens and tips?
I work from home, so I'm typically pretty lazy when it comes to my beauty regimen. As I get older I notice the importance of keeping my skin safe in the sun. I wear a moisturizer or concealer with SPF in it everyday. I also believe in the power of a bold lipstick and never leave home without a couple in my bag. I swear by dry shampoo (Batiste in "Blonde" is my favorite), L'Oreal Double extend mascara, and Too Faced Bronzer .
What are your favorite local DFW beauty brands and/or beauty related services?
I am a huge fan of Cooper Aerobics Center in Dallas. It's one of the nicest and unassuming gyms around - a big plus for me. I am pretty pale but love a good sunless tan and I am fairly cheap, I love Palm Beach Tan. For my hair I love DryBar!
Must-have summer accessories?
I'm obsessed with rings. The more, the better. I like to add simple gold pieces, midi rings, and then one statement ring. My motto is, the more the merrier on your hand.
Patio or Bar?
Patio! Of course. Dallas has so many great patio spots: Katy Trail Ice House, The Rustic, The Foundry, to name a few. You really can't go wrong.
If you could have dinner with any local DFW woman, who would it be?
Melinda Gates. She is so admirable on so many levels but the fact that she uses her position for a greater good is inspiring.
Any last words of inspiration for our DFW Beauties?
Perspective is everything.
You have to work hard and take what like throws at you, but if you can view it in a positive way then you'll be better off. My motto: it's all good.
